The Muny - Second Century Project

Multi-Use Room

The Muny boardroom is the crown jewel of the Muny Second Century project (behind the stage). As the organization has grown, space is at a premium. The boardroom is used for many purposes. The table need flexibility of full communications capabilities.

Art Deco Inlay

In reference to the Roaring 20’s, Art Deco era building, layered inlay of both veneer (black) and stringing (white) are all created in White oak. Timber was harvested from the 180 year old trees previously standing on the Muny mainstage for the past 100 years. Goebel harvested, milled, dried and fabricated with the timber giving more than a second century of life to these storied trees.

Function and Form

The 16’ x 5’ table top is driven by a trio of pedestals yielding uninhibited seating and silhouetting as the sun streams in. The black patina surface is achieved though reactive finishing without the addition of color. This process will never fade or break down in the sun.
